Kathleen Kenney Lucente, Founder and President
Kathleen Kenney Lucente is a proven marketing and communications expert with over 20 years of experience in emerging technologies, financial services, women's consumer products and services and Austin's entertainment and music industry. Kathleen's clients know her as a seasoned expert and strategist as well as a hard worker who rolls up her sleeves to make it all happen. Her client work includes IBM, IBM Research, JPMorgan Chase, JPMorgan Asia Pacific, Motorola, AMS, MommyMixer, Dish-a-licious, Dream Jobs Inc, CSC, Hypernix, LivePerson, FEDEX, TIVOLI, Price Waterhouse, Bell Atlantic, Viewpoint, Total Mommy Fitness, Etcetera, The Connaught Group, Per Se, Carlisle Collection and more.
Her over 20 years in agency and corporate public relations and marketing experience include work both domestically based out of NYC and Boston and internationally based out of Hong Kong. Her corporate experience includes positions as JPMorgan's Vice President and Director of Corporate Marketing and Communications for Asia Pacific, Vice President and Director of Marketing and Communications for JPMorgan Chase's Lab Morgan, Manager of Public Relations for IBM Research Worldwide, and Senior Manager of Emerging Technology Public Relations for IBM's Personal Systems Group.
Glenn Mandel, Executive Media Relations Strategist
Glenn Mandel is a seasoned public relations and media relations professional with 20 years of national PR agency experience leading major brand accounts. Career highlights include creating and leading award-winning communications campaigns across multiple industries including: technology, Internet, wireless, video games, consumer goods/products, restaurant, retail and marketing. In addition, he has deep relationships with major national media, key technology trades and leading online outlets yielding consistent and impactful exposure for clients. During his career he has worked on accounts including Nintendo, JVC, Electronic Arts, Subway restaurants, Alltel Wireless, Symbol Technologies, Caring.com and Allstate.
Jeff Salzgeber, Media Relations Strategist & Broadcast News Specialist
Emmy award-winning journalist Jeff Salzgeber has over 16 years of experience in broadcast news and public relations. Prior to becoming a well-recognized press relations consultant with a vast number of clients, Jeff served as senior media consultant with GCI Read-Poland (now Cohn & Wolfe) in Austin, Texas. There, he oversaw campaigns on behalf of clients such as RadioShack, Cingular Wireless and British Airways.
Before working in public relations, Jeff spent more than a decade with CNN, where he served as correspondent, producer and, most prominently, senior assignment editor. In this last position, he was responsible for coordinating CNN's coverage with its 11 domestic news bureaus and 900+ local television affiliates. It was in this role that Jeff and his team won an Emmy Award for the network's coverage of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.
As a communications and PR practitioner, Jeff has leveraged his national and regional media contacts and experience to yield unparalleled results for clients including Lowe's, InterContinental Hotels Group, Carlisle Collection, Etcetera, and Johnson & Johnson.
In the Lone Star state, he has developed and executed PR campaigns for government agencies and non-profits including the Texas Department of Transportation and Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD). Jeff has also worked extensively with H-E-B, having helped launch their new store format, H-E-B plus! in Central Texas. Additionally, he has led media training sessions with top executives at Dell and Keller Williams.
Jeff has degrees in English and Telecommunications from Indiana University. He began his career working in public television.
Korin Lewis, Senior Account Executive
Korin manages and supports Red Fan's daily operations for a diverse set of accounts ranging from consumer products and start-ups to privately held companies and entrepreneurs. She is a cornerstone of the agency and has a stellar approach toward addressing and meeting client goals, all-the-while questioning the status quo and thinking outside the box! Whether crafting a story pitch, managing the press strategy for a new product launch, overseeing the copy for a website launch or supporting the development of a new business plan, Korin handles every aspect of her job with a pronounced attention to detail, and a results-oriented approach.
A native of Michigan, Korin moved to Texas to attend college in 2005. She put herself through school while working at the Austin-based law firm, Daffer McDaniel LLP. In her role as lifestyle coordinator at the firm, she handled reputation management issues, interfaced with clients on a daily basis, scheduled meetings and planned events. She quickly developed a knack for listening to and addressing client needs and, when necessary, showing discretion. She regularly delighted clients and management with better ideas and new approaches to challenges.
The pairing of these skills along with Korin's recent earning of her Bachelor's degree has created a unique combination of work experience and education that is not normally achieved by young PR and Marketing practitioners until many more years into their careers. Our clients regularly take notice of her professionalism and “can do” attitude! Korin graduated from University of Texas at San Antonio with a B.A. in Communications.
Bristel Bowen, Senior Account Executive
Bristel comes to Red Fan from with a unique blend of experience in public relations, journalism and television. This range allows her to seamlessly address individual client needs and produce comprehensive public relations strategies across all mediums. She combines creativity and pragmatism to build out dynamic campaigns that resonate with the desired audience, producing measurable results.
Most recently, Bristel honed her public relations expertise at superfruit juice and supplement purveyor Genesis Today, where she supported the day-to-day operations of the Public Relations department as Public Relations Specialist. Her accomplishments include launching a new product line with nationwide distribution in retailers like Whole Foods Market and Walmart, crafting pitches and segment topics for outlets such as The Dr. Oz Show, CBS Better Mornings and Good Morning Texas, managing the brand's social media presence and drafting copy for the website. She previously worked as a News Production Assistant at KSBY-TV in California, where she learned the ins and outs of television news. Bristel now leverages this experience to deliver media training for brand spokespersons and to craft pitches that are newsworthy, catching the eyes of producers and reporters and garnering media coverage for her accounts. Bristel has an unusual breadth of life and professional experience — a quality that manifests in her work as maturity, professionalism and enterprise. After growing up in Southern California, Bristel moved cross-country to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Journalism and Mass Communication. When she's not masterfully addressing client needs, Bristel might be found Scuba diving, watching a film at the Alamo Drafthouse, playing Trivial Pursuit, or wine tasting in Texas Hill Country.

Kathleen began her career as a journalist at Cahners Reed Elsevier, and her agency tenure includes work in the New York offices of Ketchum Public Relations and PepperCom, as well as the Cambridge, MA-based office of Cunningham Communications Inc. In NYC, Asia and Austin, Kathleen is recognized by reporters as a PR person who truly understands the needs of the press. Within three years in Hong Kong, she had turned a meek, unresponsive press team into the top recognized investment banking PR team in Asia, as noted by reporters at Bloomberg, The Wall Street Journal and the top Asia Pacific financial trade magazine, Finance Asia.
Time and time again, Kathleen has successfully weathered PR crises for her clients, keeping their reputations intact during challenging situations including 9-11. Kathleen was responsible for drafting the most recent crisis management document for JPMorgan Chase after managing the SARS scare in Hong Kong. In addition, her public relations leadership of Ketchum's American Management Systems account resulted in the first ever Business-to-Business Anvil Award. Her work was recognized with the Big Apple Award and CIPRA Award for the best consumer technology product launch for Hypernix's Gooey Consumer Chat Application.
Today she has a stellar team of experienced media relations experts who work with her to regularly secure brand and image-enhancing press coverage nationwide - mapping to the specific business goals of each client.
Kathleen actively mentors many young people studying to enter the PR, marketing and advertising arena and is a part-time lecturer at The University of Texas at Austin. Kathleen is also an invited lecturer with the Austin Music Foundation and plays an active role in helping Austin musicians evaluate their PR and marketing efforts. When she's not working, by day she enjoys exploring Austin's abundance of family friendly events or hiking in the Hill Country with her husband and two children. By night you can find her scouting out the latest culinary wonders, wine tastings and live music in town.
