The Story

The UMLAUF Sculpture Garden + Museum is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded around a vast collection of work by American sculptor Charles Umlauf. The UMLAUF exhibits the work of Charles Umlauf, artists who influenced him, and other contemporary sculptors in a natural setting, and provides educational experiences that encourage the understanding and appreciation of sculpture.

The Challenge

With a new executive director on board and a fresh rebrand to launch, the UMLAUF Sculpture Garden + Museum wanted to elevate its brand in Austin and beyond. Exciting new exhibitions, expanded offerings and additional events provided an opportunity for Red Fan Communications to increase brand awareness about the UMLAUF’s unique programs, and position it as the top destination for arts education in the city where visitors can learn, reflect, socialize and play.NUMBER OF TIMESarticles were shared via social mediaMEDIA MENTIONSAGGREGATE READERSHIPfor all media mentionsSHARE OF VOICEagainst local competitors

The Solution

Red Fan developed public relations campaigns to showcase the UMLAUF’s work and establish it as a leader locally, regionally and nationally through dedicated media and influencer relations efforts. The partnership consisted of highlighting key exhibitions like Michael Ray Charles and James Surls, and events such as Garden Party and the inaugural Burlesque Ball that helped establish and maintain press conversations leading to enhanced media coverage and increased brand engagement. Red Fan also provided support through strategic partnership introductions and negotiations that will enable the UMLAUF to explore new opportunities going forward.

Since beginning our work with their team, it has been a partnership in its truest form. We have collaborated together on many projects that have put the UMLAUF at the forefront of the art community’s mind, and they have helped our team look at things in different and unique ways. We are thrilled to have them as part of our team to communicate the UMLAUF’s great events, exhibitions and news to the Austin community and nationwide.Executive Director©2026 Red Fan Communications.
